Welcome to
The Narrabeen Sands Hotel

Sydney’s Northern Beaches has had an enduring reputation for a laid-back, comfortable lifestyle underpinned by the idiosyncratic beach culture and distinctive neighbourhood spirit. The Narrabeen Sands has been at the heart of this community since the late 1800s.

The Narrabeen Sands started life as a traveller’s rest stop in the late 1880s. In 1907 the building was raised and rebuilt as The Royal Hotel. For the next 60 years The Royal was a mecca for members of the local community and visitors to the Northern Beaches.

By the time the venue’s name was shortened to The Antler in the 1970s it was the music that was drawing the patrons north of the Harbour Bridge. By the 80s, famed Australian bands like Cold Chisel, INXS and local boys made good Midnight Oil held regular gigs at the iconic pub. Fast forward to the 1990s and groups like of Powderfinger and The Church regularly played the Sands, along with perennial favourites The Oils.

2008 welcomes a new era for The Sands, with opening of a much anticipated and exciting new development, stick your head in The Sands and enjoy great food, cutting edge entertainment and of course an ice cold drink!
